Today we left Hull’s marina gates for the first time, leaving our home for the last week. We made our way down to Cleethorpes, taking about the same time it took us to drive on Saturday . We’d earmarked the day to practice rescue drills and what a perfect day for it – beautiful sunshine and a healthy force 4-5. Even the local RAF were out practicing, with three birds buzzing overhead. During our coaching weekend with Pasty Adventures, we’d run through likely scenarios on paper, and created action plans. So today we worked through these on the water, including launching off the stern (back) of Mentor, simulating a board change, and doing a full water pack down and rescue.
