With all those tastings yesterday, 23 in all, there were a few sore heads in the morning. But when there’s wind we have to use it. So around 08:30 poor Jeff got kicked off the boat to go fend for himself. We at least fed him breakfast before we left; just not the monster feast we had yesterday, not sure I could kite after all of that. Porridge is the kiters breakfast of choice in this group.

I originally rigged up the 11m but as I launched it rocketed me up out the water leaving me to body drag back upwind to retrieve me board. Nervous there would be more wind outside the bay I gave Stew my kite and swapped down to the 9m.

Mistake. We’d only been going for 53 minutes when we reached the point and the wind died. The only wind we could see was behind us. So we packed up and headed back.

I half think this outing was more a way of getting out of the final three distilleries than a real opportunity to get around the island. We later heard back from Jeff that he had managed to squeeze them all in. Enjoying a further 10 tastings before catching his flight. Definitely more dedicated to the whiskey than we were!
