We awoke to thick fog and no wind.  We had to wait until 1pm for a favourable tide to go past Portland Bill and by 11am the fog have lifted. We headed out with little wind but a promising forecast and arrived at our waypoint. Thats when the fog returned. We decided to head back out of the main channel to just behind the Bill and blew our fog horn every 2 minutes to alert other vessels. The fog horn from the lighthouse could be heard every 30s. After 2 hours with no sign of the fog lifting we headed back into Portland. The fog lifted briefly to allow us to re-enter the harbour and then came down again for the rest of the day.

We took the dinghy to shore for the evening and found some rock and roll dancing for Islay to enjoy and some local beer for Stew.
