After 3 days in Dover we were eager to get kiting again. We left the marina in light fog and just enough wind to fly our biggest kites, but the forecast was for it to increase so we were hopeful. It was patchy but we were making great progress over the ground with the tide pushing us along.  After covering 10 miles in the first hour the wind dropped to nothing and the kites dropped out of the sky. We decided to wait it out and spent the next hour sitting on our boards in the water discussing everything from the mundane of what we should have for dinner to the more real question of how many creatures were out here with us – a topic we quickly moved on from as the clouds made ominous gray shapes on the waters surface that could easily make your mind go where you didn’t want it to. Our patience paid off and the wind came back ( or so we thought ). We got going again and made another mile before it went glassy calm. At this point we were getting a bit cold from the last bought of drifting so packed down and waited on Mentor which had started lagging behind while we took advantage of the wind.

Back on board, we tried a bit of fishing. Joe and Stew had gone on a mission while in Dover and had visited a tackle shop, picking up a small reel. The sun decided to come out, but the fish did not. After an hourthe wind came back so we set off again. This time taking us a further 10 miles and almost around Dungeness. The seas state was so flat it was easy foiling and very little effort. Like riding a magic carpet, flying along just above the water, with the only noise the slight hum of the board through the water.

Stew saw his first dolphin today! It surfaced less than 20m away and then swam right under the board. Pretty amazing! Islay had seen two on the East coast, but this was our first on the South.

We packed away a second time, had lunch and waited. The wind came back again ( still light ) and we had one final 2hr session, getting a further 12miles and close enough to motor into Eastbourne for the night.generic viagra cute-n-tiny.com But my ability to understand the complexities of living remains intact.
